Ben Kurtz

I grew up in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, before migrating to California for college. I studied physics at Caltech and mechanical engineering at UC San Diego. I currently work for an agricultural automation engineering startup in Merced, CA. We're on the lookout for talented engineers in the area, so if you think you might fit the bill don't hesitate to get in touch. Alternatively, if you live in the area and have an interest in cool, nerdy hobby projects outside work, I'd love to meet you!

App for holiday decorations on your Mac. Originally written long ago in my high school days, and badly in need of upgrades.

Bicycle turn signals

Inspired by a manual version seen online, this wrist-mounted circuit detects turns using an accelerometer, and flashes to indicate a turn. We cut the circuit board on a custom-made CNC mill at home, and programmed custom firmware on an Attiny microcontroller. More details eventually.
